The Aloha Tree Project
Sending ripples of love, light and aloha into the world—whether in honor of a loved one who has passed, or as a simple act of kindness—it is more than a gesture. It’s a path to healing—healing ourselves, and healing our planet.

The Aloha Tree was born from the life and spirit of Lucas Robert Banks—a bright, adventurous soul who brought laughter, kindness, and deep care into the lives of everyone he met. Lucas was known for his playful energy, his love of helping others, and his deep connection to nature, family, and community. On August 21, 2023 he was killed instantly while riding his motorcycle in the North Shore of Oahu, the island he loved so deeply. His presence continues to guide and inspire his loved ones.
Rooted in love, grief, and gratitude, The Aloha Tree Project was created to honor Lucas’s legacy through healing action. Just as he lived—with joy, kindness, generosity, and heart—The Aloha Tree carries forward his mission by planting trees in memory of those we’ve lost. These living memorials not only celebrate individual lives, but also give back to the Earth and support others in their own journeys of healing and remembrance.
Lucas remains present in the breeze through the leaves, the roots in the soil, and the hands that come together to plant these living memorials. By growing trees in honor of our loved ones, we reconnect to them, to the Earth, and to each other. Together, let’s continue their legacies—with love, with hope, and with growing forests of remembrance.
